A fundraiser is being held on Saturday 28th May 2022, to raise funds for Dravet Syndrome. It is a rare and very severe form of epilepsy. Local girl, one-year-old Isla, has been diagnosed with this terrifying condition about which, very little is known.
Bring along you friends and family for a few drinks, and good food and live entertainment. Bring along a picnic mat to sit on. Your ticket will include a bottle of wine or 3 beers of your choice, a platter on arrival, and dinner later in the evening. More drinks can be purchased throughout the evening.
Raffle tickets will also be on sale with some amazing prizes to be won. All proceeds from this event will be going to help with research into Epilepsy and Dravet Syndrome.
A Little About Dravet Syndrome:
- It is a SCN1A gene mutation.
- It is one of the rarest forms of epilepsy
- It is resistant to medication
- Life expectancy is shortened with a one in five risk of not making it to adulthood.
- Seizures occur more often and are prolonged
- Sufferers experience behavioural, developmental and speech delays
- They experience sleeping difficulties, chronic infections and disruptions of the autonomic nervous system.
