Turtle Rescue at Half Tide Beach

DBCT P/L received a phone call in November 2019 from a member of the community, as a turtle was stranded on Half Tide Beach and they thought we could help.

A member of our environmental team jumped at the opportunity to help. Once at the beach, they found the large, beautiful turtle stranded amongst rocks. She was heavy, and needed many hands to make light work of her rescue. The community worked together to place her onto a blanket, carry her back to the ocean, and watched as she swam off into the sea.

It was gratifying to know that members of the community knew they could turn to DBCT P/L for help. And in the end, it was a heart-warming moment that we’ll never forget!
